Tactical Magazines (Clips)

One of the most crucial things to consider when purchasing and modifying a Nerf blaster is how your darts will feed into the blaster. Three years ago, before 18-round clips and drums and raider drums were available, we had to get creative with the 6-round clips that were available. Using a bit of cardboard and some duct tape, I made my original tactical magazine.

The tactical magazine was inspired by the STANAG M4A1 magazine, which is mostly rectangular with a slight angle half way down the magazine. Once in a blaster, this magazine adds a more aggressive look and a shortened reload time. Although this modification does not increase the capacity of the clip, faster reloads always help in the heat of battle.

Here are a few pics of this magazine in the Nerf Recon and Alpha Trooper:

  1. you could make a custom flip clip, except with the cardboard, another clip angled slightly by putting a 2x4 lego piece on one end of a clip. then take another clip and tape it on, so because of the lego, it will be angled.
